India will take on England in the first of the five-match Test series, starting June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. This is a young-looking India side led by Shubman Gill. This will be the first series in over a decade where the trio of Ravi Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma won't feature. Under Gill, the team will aim to play a fearless brand of cricket and carry forward the rich legacy established by these stalwarts.
Batting will be under the spotlight, as India has fallen short of runs consistently in the last two years or so. Spin has been the biggest headache for the team, and the batters would be keen to not repeat that. As far as the hosts are concerned, their bowling is slightly weak, with the absence of Mark Wood (ruled out the entire summer) and Jofra Archer (ruled out for the first Test). However, the batting is strong with Joe Root, Ben Duckett, and Harry Brook in a rich vein of form.
