Delhi Capitals (DC) won the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in a super over on April 16.
Chasing 189 runs, RR put the early pressure on DC with Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 runs off 37 balls) and Sanju Samson (31 runs off 19 balls) swinging for the fences. They both hammered a six each off Mukesh Kumar in the second over, making their intentions clear.
Jaiswal unleashed carnage in the third over, smacking Mitchell Starc for three crispy boundaries, including a six. while Samson went beast mode, launching Mukesh Kumar into the Delhi night sky in the fourth over.

In a massive moment, Samson retired hurt. He felt discomfort in his ribs and walked off. Though, by the end of the powerplay, RR were cruising at 63 runs for no wickets.
Axar Patel struck in the ninth over, cleaning up Riyan Parag (8 runs off 11 balls), who did not look like himself and struggled throughout.
However, Jaiswal was on a mission. He took the innings forward along with Nitish Rana (51 runs off 28 balls). The youngster brought up his fifty in the 12th over in 34 deliveries with a single off Mohit Sharma.
Soon after, Kuldeep Yadav provided DC with a breakthrough. He trapped Jaiswal with a flighted delivery as the Capitals saw hope.
While DC squeezed out the run rate, Rana changed gears in the 15th over. He collected a six as Tristan Stubbs dropped a catch at long-on off Axar’s bowling. The southpaw hit two fours in the same over. However, on the fifth ball, the left-arm spinner had trapped him in front of the stumps. DC did not opt for a review, and the ball-tracking showed three reds later.

Rana did not even spare Kuldeep, who was also dealt a four and a six in the 16th over. He brought up his fifty in the process.
Starc got the better of Rana in the 18th over, with DC still needing 28 runs off 14 balls. It was anybody's game. But a four by Shimron Hetmyer coming off an inside edge on the next delivery swung the match back in RR's favor a tad bit.
Dhruv Jurel tonked a maximum off Mohit in the penultimate over. RR required nine runs off six balls.
Starc gave just runs on the first two deliveries. Hetmyer and Jurel ran twos on the next two balls. Another one brought the equation down to two runs off one delivery. Only one came off the final ball as the match proceeded to a super over.
Parag and Hetymer came out to bat for RR in the super over. Both smashed a boundary each before getting run out. RR could play only five deliveries and set a 12-run target for DC.
KL Rahul and Stubbs achieved the target in just four balls. Sandeep was given the task to defend 11 runs, but Rahul first hit him for a four, and Stubbs then finished off the things with a massive six to seal a win in a humdinger.
With this victory, Delhi Capitals moved to the top of the IPL 2025 points table, while Rajasthan Royals remained in eighth place.
