India will be involved in a grueling five-match Test series against England starting on June 20. This is set to be a new era for the team in the red-ball format following the retirements of Ravi Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma after the conclusion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in January 2025. Shubman Gill has taken over Test captaincy from Rohit and is set to begin India's fourth World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 Cycle with the England series. Kohli, who has quit two formats, currently resides in London with his family.
However, despite the Indian team playing two Tests in London, the star batter won't come to the stadium to cheer for Gill & Co. Unlike Kohli's idol Sachin Tendulkar, who was spotted at Lord's recently for the launch of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Kohli was not in attendance for the WTC Final at Lord's between South Africa and Australia.

According to a report in the Telegraph, the former India captain is loving his quiet and peaceful life in London. The 36-year-old often goes out for dinner with his family and also was spotted riding the tube, which is an unthinkable scenario in India owing to paparazzi culture.
Virat Kohli enjoying much-needed privacy in London
One of the main reasons for Kohli settling down in London is that he wants to experience going out freely, enjoy car rides, and walk peacefully without constant media scrutiny. The star batter is believed to be staying in Notting Hill, a neighborhood Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been staying in for quite a long time. In another development, Middlesex County has shown interest in roping in the RCB batter for the season.

However, Kohli has not accepted the offer nor shown any interest. He was last seen playing for RCB in the IPL 2025 season. The right-hand batter's 18-year-long cherished dream came true as the team finally won its maiden IPL trophy.
